Expertise
From fibre to fashion. From product to business.
My perspective on fashion business comes from understanding the whole ecosystem behind it, not only the finished product. These are the areas I have lived and worked in, and the lens I bring to every conversation.
Understanding fibres, yarns, fabrics, processing, sourcing, and the textile value chain that forms the foundation of fashion.
My journey began here, long before I thought about brands or business. Working with fibres, yarns and fabrics taught me that every garment inherits the strengths and the weaknesses of the material it starts from. When I look at a product today, I still read the fabric first, because a great deal of quality, and most of the margin, is decided at this stage.

Apparel & Garment Manufacturing
Practical understanding of product development, manufacturing, production, sourcing, quality, and garment business operations.
I have spent years on the factory side of fashion, where an idea has to survive contact with a cutting table and a production line. Manufacturing rewards clarity and punishes assumptions. A vague specification quietly becomes an expensive mistake, multiplied across thousands of pieces. I learned to think in terms of what can actually be made, consistently, at a price that works.
Understanding how products, customers, markets, operations, pricing, and commercial decisions come together.
A beautiful product is not a business. Over three decades I have watched the same lesson repeat: the founders who last are the ones who understand how price, cost, customer and operations connect into one machine. Much of my work now is helping people see that whole machine, not only the parts they enjoy building.

Fashion Entrepreneurship
Helping aspiring entrepreneurs understand what it actually takes to move from an idea to a commercially viable fashion business.
I have built businesses myself, and I have mentored people trying to build theirs. Entrepreneurship in fashion looks glamorous from the outside and feels relentless from the inside. My role is to be honest about what the journey really demands, so people commit their time and money with their eyes open, not on the strength of a good-looking sample.
Perspectives on market positioning, customer understanding, product strategy, sourcing, pricing, branding, launch, and growth.
A brand is not a logo or a name. It is a promise a customer decides to trust. I have seen strong products fail because nobody understood who they were for, and modest products do well because the positioning was clear. Building a brand, to me, means getting the fundamentals right in the correct order before spending on the visible parts.

Technology & Future of Fashion
Exploring how artificial intelligence, digital commerce, technology, and changing consumer behaviour are transforming the fashion business.
The tools have changed enormously since I started, and they will keep changing. I pay close attention to how artificial intelligence, digital commerce and shifting consumer behaviour are reshaping the industry, not as hype but as practical shifts a founder needs to understand. The fundamentals of good business stay the same; the ways we reach and serve customers do not.
Understanding the industry is where it starts. Building something of your own is where it gets real.
